WHO WE ARE

The Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE) is the peak body representing all Australian universities and several of the private colleges that offer initial teacher education degrees. ACDE works to ensure that Australia produces teacher graduates of the highest quality; has a strong teaching profession; and an inclusive and innovative education system that enhances learning and teaching.

At the October 2023 AGM, Professor Simone White from RMIT was elected Vice President of the ACDE, joining President Professor Michele Simons (Western Sydney University) and Secretary/Treasurer Professor Barney Dalgarno (University of Canberra) both elected to their second term of office.

2023 AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE AND IMPACT IN EDUCATION

The Australian Council of Deans of Education is proud to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of remarkable individuals or teams who have made a meaningful contribution to education through its Awards of Excellence and Impact in Education.

 This Award recognises contributions of initiative, innovation, personal success, research or building positive collaborative partnerships in the education sector.

 The Board recently reviewed and expanded its past Awards of Excellence guidelines to allow for nominations of persons or teams that operate anywhere within the education sector.

ACDE is calling for nominations for this award.

  • Nominations are to be made and seconded by two Dean Members of ACDE.
  • Please complete the online form which requires a supporting statement (max 500 words)
  • Closing date: Friday 22 September 2023, 5.00pm (AEST)

 Up to three awards are granted each year. Award recipients will be announced at the ACDE Conference on Friday 20 October 2023.
