The Australian Council of Deans of Education releases papers and advice to members periodically. These papers are designed to further debate and discuss key areas of education and keep members informed.

Briefing paper 2007-8 ACDE budget briefing (pdf 49Kb) - The ACDE has analysed the 2007-8 budget and the news is not good for teacher education or for the field of Education generally. None of the House of Representative Recommendations with budget implications have been taken up and, relative to the sector as a whole, the field of Education's funding position continues the decline which begun with HESA (2003).

AFTRAA proposal The Australasian Forum of Teacher Registration and Accreditation Authorities (AFTRAA) have released The Framework for the National Recognition of Approved Pre-Service Teacher Education Programs (pdf 79Kb) for consultation.
TA proposal Teaching Australia (TA) is conducting consultations on its proposals for national accreditation of teacher education programs, Australia-wide accreditation of programs for the professional preparation of teachers. ACDE will meet with them in the last week in February.
