The webinar features:

Professor Peter Buckskin. Dean: Aboriginal Engagement and Strategic Projects, University of South Australia. Professor Buckskin was Project Leader of the More Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teachers Initiative (MATSITI), which has formally concluded this year. MATSITI collaborated with 60 school and university partnerships; compiled comprehensive data and evidence in teacher education and school employment; and developed promotional strategies for Indigenous teachers to consider education a career of choice. Professor Buckskin is on the ACDE Board.

Dr Kaye Price, Curriculum Director of the 3Rs website, has been a dedicated advocate and Research Associate with the four-year More Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teachers Initiative (MATSITI) project. The 2004 NAIDOC Scholar of the Year was named an Education Warrior at the 2008 World Indigenous Peoples Conference: Education in recognition of her achievements as a teacher, policy maker, manager, consultant and researcher on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education. issues.

 Dr Peter Anderson teaches and researches in the areas of organisational leadership, First Nations people’s education, and teacher and academic professional development in the Faculty of Education at Monash University. He is known for his work in pre-service Teacher Education arguing for a rights-based approach to the provision of education services to Indigenous Peoples, underpinned by the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Peter sits on a number of advisory boards, most notably he is the inaugural Chair of the Australian Indigenous Lecturers in Initial Teacher Education Association (AILITE). This association advises the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE), the Australian Government and various regulatory bodies on matters related to Indigenous education in Australia.

Mark Tranthim-Fryer, is a senior educator who has managed the development of the 3Rs website. Mark, who is also Project Manager of the More Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teachers Initiative (MATSITI), has extensive knowledge of learning, social and Indigenous education, social and technical innovation with 25 years’ experience developing, managing and evaluating complex projects and programs for governments, non-profits and industry.
